2012 QLD Industry Dinner and Networking Event

An outstanding event and tribute to the ARCIA Queensland sub-Committee who hosted the Inaugural Industry Dinner and Networking Event at Victoria Park in Brisbane on Friday night, 20 April. The event brought together almost 90 industry members and their spouses from Queensland and across Australia.

The opening address by Ros Bates MP, Minister for Science, IT, Innovation and Arts spoke directly to the importance of the radio industry and its critical role in service/solution delivery in the future, and keynote speaker Spencer Howson shared his passion for wireless communications and the ability for radio to instantly connect people.

Congratulations to Nick Gallagher from Nixon Communications who was awarded the Sir Angus Tait Memorial Scholarship. Nixon Communications was also awarded official Accreditation status at the event.

Thank you to CA Bearcom who donated a $750 Stamford Plaza voucher to the event. Julia Bryce, a spouse of a radio communications specialist from RF Communications, was the lucky winner.

ARCIA would like to extend its thanks to the Queensland ARCIA sub-Committee Anthony Blyth, Devran Roberts, Jim Simpson and David Lenehan who all contributed largely to the success of this event.
