• Inquiry into Autonomous Mass Transit developments

    Posted on: 4th May, 2019

In conjunction with the University of Melbourne’s Centre for Disaster Management and Public Safety (CDMPS), a co-branded submission was presented to the committee highlighting that mission critical communications should be included in the overall transit planning eco-system.

Geoff Spring, a Project Officer for ARCIA and a Senior Industry Advisor for CDMPS, appeared before the House Committee and as a result, the findings from the committee have included some recommendations that should see communications capabilities included in future transit planning. There were no other submissions that addressed the need for communications to be part of infrastructure planning.

The findings of the committee can be found in the link below: www.aph.gov.au/Parliamentary_Business/Committees/House/ITC/automatedmasstransit/Report

ARCIA believes that it is important for linkages to academia, other local organisations and international bodies are important; they bring information into the public safety eco-system.
